Today was Book Character Day and look at these great costumes! The 2nd grade teachers dressed up, too, as Rock, Paper, and Scissors from the book "The Legend of Rock, Paper, Scissors.
We also had a fall party where we decorated a jack o lantern cookie, made ghost pops and ate other yummy treats. Thanks, parents, for sending in all those treats and supplies for the craftivities.
Today students found out what happens when you mix baking soda and vinegar...a gas is formed! Such a fun way to teach that a gas does take up space and has weight!
Today we finished our US Maps! This year, with all the wet weather, it took over a week for the maps to dry before we could start painting them. Each student was "quizzed" while the rivers were being cut when their maps were first created and their final grade came from the labeling after all the paint was dried.
Our playground just got new swings! The kids were so excited. And look who came out to our recess to try them out herself...Principal Crummie!
We have been collecting nature items from home and around the school yard so that we can make mandalas out of nature materials in our school courtyard. Today was our first go during our Morning Meeting Activity. The results were fabulous!
