Each pair of students were given 6 pipe cleaners and 4 pieces of foil to come up with...anything!! What creative students we have! This idea came from this link.
This week we shared our Mystery Bags. Some the students guessed right away, but for many we learned something new about our classmates. Click here to go to the gallery of all the students' mystery bag shares.
For Women's Equality Day today the students were asked to vote on which bookmarks the whole class would get to keep...but then only the boys' votes counted! Well, for a little while, anyway. After viewing a clip from Brain Pop Jr. on Susan B. Anthony and learning how men and women both fought for the women's right to vote, everyone got to pick out the one they wanted. But boy, did those girls speak up for themselves before they knew what was going on!
Oh,no! Fred, the worm, capsized his boat and landed on top with his life preserver under the boat. Could the students turn the boat over, put the life preserver back on Fred and get him back in the boat using just paperclips? Yes! Loads of fun and lots of teamwork.
Today we went to the Wonder Lounge for the first time. After reading Leo Lionni's Mathew's Dream we began thinking about our Hopes and Dreams for the school year by writing or drawing them on the Wonder Wall.
Students matched up randomly had to discover three ways they were alike and three ways they are different and record it on a venn diagram. Then they presented each other to the class.
Today we went to Mrs. White's cool outfitted room. We loved finding cozy little niches to sit. Then we listened to a You Tube book reading of The Book With No Pictures.
For our morning meeting activity, students had to build a 24 piece puzzle...without talking! This was a fun, challenging team building activity!
Students made glyphs and then wrote about themselves as learners. Do you know what kind of a learner you are? Click here to go to a gallery of all our glyphs.
