Today we had our last share of the year. It was one of our student's new puppy! The kids loved seeing and hearing all about how they came to adopt this puppy. Aside from all the times students are "assigned" to share, students are invited to volunteer special things at Morning Meeting. Click here to go to the Share Gallery to see all the shares from the year.
Today was also W for Worm Day! No, we did not dissect worms because we know that worms are our friends, but students did conduct experiments to see if worms like black paper or white paper, a wet paper towel or a dry tray, react to touch, and if they prefer a dark tent. Interested in our results? Well try out these experiments from STEM Mom.
As part of our ABC Countdown, today was V for Variety Show Day. What a wonderful treat to have our very own variety show. All the kids' performances were wonderful.
Field Day has got to be one of the favorite days of the year for most students. I was so proud of the students for the spirit they showed, not really caring if they won or lost, just having fun. The water stations were the overwhelming favorites, and it was a nice hot day to get wet!
As part of our ABC Countdown, today was T for Dress like a Twin of Triplet Day.
Today was O for Owl Pellet Day as part of our ABC Countdown and as part of our studies of animals. We dissected owl pellets and attempted to rebuild the skeletons of rodents. At first some of the students were a bit squirmish, but that did not last long! We were so into it, I forgot to take pictures, but here is a couple of finished products.
This evening was the PTO Glow Run. This event raises money for teacher projects throughout the year. It was fun to see some of our families come out and all the community support for our school!
